Parent Information- This Easter the WRU in collaboration with WeSoda, supported by Cardiff rugby foundation, will be running free Fit, Fed, and Fun rugby camps at a rugby club close to your school for participants in the local community aged between 7 and 14.
The aim of the camps is to provide the children in our communities who are most at need with an opportunity to eat and stay active in the Easter holidays.
The camps will start at 10am with a breakfast and the children will receive a lunch at 12.30, they will take part in activities during the rest of the day which will finish around 2pm.
All our camps will be led by our WRU hub officers and Cardiff Rugby Foundation staff who are fully qualified coaches and hold an up-to-date DBS.
There will be 50 spaces on each camp and I would like your support in sharing this opportunity via the link below with the children within your school who would benefit from this provision the most during the holidays.
The dates and venues of the camps within your catchment area and the links for participants to sign up are –

IA2. Well Being- Gellifaelog is proud to support World Autism Awareness Week, which runs from 27th Match to 2nd April
Autism is a lifelong neurodevelopment disability that affects roughly 1 in 100 people in the UK. It is often diagnosed in childhood, but some people are diagnosed later in life. It is not known why people are autistic; our understanding of autism, the way it affects people, and the ways in which we diagnose and support individuals is improving as more research is done about the condition.
Autism affects people in different ways and no two people with autism are the same. For someone to be diagnosed with autism, two key areas of difficulties are communication & social interaction and repetitive & restrictive behaviours. Additionally, autistic people often have different sensory experiences.
IA2. Well Being- Gellifaelog is proud to support World Epilepsy Day.
Today is Purple Day. This is a day to raise awareness of epilepsy.
Epilepsy is a condition that can affect anybody at any age; but usually starts either in childhood or in people over 60. There are more than half a million people in the UK who have been diagnosed with this condition.
Epilepsy affects the brain and causes seizures – these are caused by bursts of electrical activity in the brain which affects the way it works. It can cause changes in sensation, behaviour or consciousness.
