Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
At Gellifaelog Primary School, we want every child to feel happy, included and able to achieve their best.
Some children may need additional support with their learning at different points during their time in school. This might be because they find a particular area of learning more difficult, need help with communication or interaction, or require additional support to access school life successfully.
We work closely with children, families and other professionals to understand each child’s individual strengths and needs and to make sure the right support is in place.
If you have any concerns about your child’s learning or development, we would encourage you to speak to their class teacher in the first instance. They will be able to discuss how your child is getting on and any support that is already being provided.
Our Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo) is Mrs Bradley. She oversees additional learning needs provision across the school and works with staff, families and outside agencies where appropriate.
Mrs Bradley is available in school Monday to Wednesday and parents and carers are welcome to arrange an appointment to meet with her. Please contact the school office if you would like to arrange a meeting.
We believe that working together with families gives children the best possible chance to thrive, and we are always happy to talk through any questions or concerns you may have.
