Our Governors
What is a School Governor?
Our governors are an important part of the leadership of our school. We have a committed team who work closely with school leaders and staff to help the school improve.
Over the past five years, governors and the school team have worked together to bring about significant improvements for our children, families and wider school community.
Governors do not manage the school from day to day. Their role is to:
-
support and challenge school leaders;
-
help make important decisions about the school;
-
check that children are safe, happy and learning well;
-
look at how the school’s money is being used;
-
help agree policies and future plans; and
-
make sure the school continues to improve.
We are currently looking for more parent governors to join our team. Parent governors bring an important family viewpoint and help make sure the voices of parents and carers are heard.
You do not need to be an expert in education. We are looking for people who care about the school, are willing to listen, ask questions and work as part of a team. Training and support are available.
Becoming a governor is a valuable way to support the school and help make a positive difference for all our children.
